Expected next November 5, Call of Duty: Vanguard is not yet another spin-off of the Activision license. According to Sledgehammer Games, which oversees the development of this 18e part, it begins a new trilogy.

Invited to a panel at New York Comic Con, Sam Maggs, one of the screenwriters of Call of Duty: Vanguard spoke about the process of creating characters for this new opus, and how they will make a mark in licensing history.

Call of Duty: Vanguard 2 and Vanguard 3 already in the boxes

“How do you make Call of Duty characters iconic? asks the screenwriter. "Because none particularly come to mind when you think of licensing. When you think of Halo, you immediately think of Master Chief. But in the case of CoD, none particularly stand out. »

And Call of Duty: Vanguard seeks precisely to break this deadlock. This explains in particular the latest trailer published by Activision, which focuses on presenting to us more before the five protagonists who make up Task Force One: the brigade of special agents featured in the Sledgehammer game.

And Sam Maggs to continue: “Who could be our figureheads in Call of Duty? Because we want to do Vanguard 2, and Vanguard 3; because we still have two more stories that we really want to tell through these characters. »

An info "never shared publicly before", supports his colleague Tochi Onyebuchi, and which adds weight to Activision's ambitions concerning this opus which, after a first glimpse of its multiplayer, does not yet seem to stand out. of precedents.
