Last week, PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst proudly announced that Sony's family of proprietary studios was growing with the arrival of a new kid on the block, namely Bluepoint Games, following the acquisition of Housemarque, Nixxes Software and Firespirit. The studio, already in Sony's small papers for a while, would also be hard at work on two new productions.

This information did not go unnoticed by players who began to dream of the next PS5 remake. But, among the potential candidates, there is one who seems to stand out.

Bluepoint Games, specialist in remakes

Many were impatiently awaiting the formalization of the takeover of Bluepoint Games by Sony. It must be said that the Texas studio has proven its talent for remakes on several occasions in the past, since it is to him that we owe the PS4 version of Shadow of the Colossus.

Still, Bluepoint is very comfortable in this area and all this could give Sony the desire to supply the PlayStation 5 with games that are very popular with the public, without taking the risk of developing a new franchise that would risk not to meet with the hoped-for success.

The Japanese manufacturer seems to have decided on the question, since Bluepoint would work on two separate projects at the same time: one would be an original creation from the studio, while the other would be yet another remake. For the moment, there is no certainty about the identity of the game that would offer a one-way ticket to the PlayStation 5, but more and more rumors are spreading lately and are to be taken with a grain of salt.

For example, the co-founder of the XboxEra site, Nick Baker, yesterday mentioned his recent information, from a source close to Sony, on the remake of the Sly Cooper franchise. So, of course, we think of Bluepoint Games for this type of project, but the studio would have set its sights on a much darker universe.

Bloodborne: an ambitious remaster could be released on PS5 this year

The night of the hunter, the return?

We mentioned it above: the noises of corridors multiply, but do not all have the same story. Today, it is through a tweet from Colin Moriarty, former journalist for the IGN site, that we learn that Bluepoint Games could continue its dark fantasy momentum for its next remake.

Without actually quoting the name of the game, Colin Moriarty refers to Yharnam, a gothic and tortuous metropolis associated with the Bloodborne franchise, which we cross in every corner to eliminate monsters and other abominations that swarm there.

Thus, according to him, the next remake, already in the pipes of Bluepoint, would be neither more nor less than Bloodborne, released on PS4 almost seven years ago, in March 2015. Even if we noted the mastery whose the studio recently demonstrated on the remake of Demon's Souls, it is surprising to see the name of Bloodborne appear at the top of the list, especially since if this remake does indeed take place, FromSoftware's game would become the title most recent to benefit from this treatment.
