At E3 2017, Ubisoft announced (a second time) Beyond Good & Evil 2. But this sequel eagerly awaited by lovers of the first opus has ultimately shown little since this great presentation. Unfortunately, worrying signals about the future of the project are beginning to reach us...
Update 15/11 at 15 p.m. : according to information from former journalist Gautoz, which we were able to verify with our sources, the Beyond Good & Evil 2 project would be in a less alarmist state than what Tom Henderson says.
Developed in Montpellier, the title is indeed in a delicate position. Notably because of a lack of vision and chaotic management. On the other hand, nothing yet points in favor of a cancellation.
On the contrary, some compare the game to Skull & Bones: Ubisoft's piracy game that has been put in stasis for years to smooth out its many rough edges. A comparison which is not happy in the sense that the latter is certainly not a model of success, but which reassures a little bit about the state of the BG&E2 project. One thing is certain: its release is still very, very far away.
In September 2020, Michel Ancel abruptly left the video game industry. The Spanish creator then left two games, on which he ensured the realization, behind him. On the one hand, we have Wild (probably canceled on the sly) and Beyond Good & Evil 2. It's the latter that interests us today… And the news is clearly not reassuring.

In a series of tweets, generally knowledgeable insider Tom Henderson gave some insight into Beyond Good & Evil 2's development progress. wouldn't have fixed anything. Worse still, the title would no longer fit "Ubisoft's future ambitions". Additionally, developers seem to think the game's cancellation is near.
If this information must be taken with a grain of salt, it must be recognized that it seems rather consistent with the heavy silence around the game in recent years. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is meant to be an action-RPG in which the player can explore different galactic systems. The title will have a strong connected dimension with events and missions that can be played by several people.
