This is the crazy rumor circulating in the middle of the week. Indeed, several renowned insiders are starting to talk about a possible postponement of the highly anticipated Battlefield 2042. For now, Electronic Arts has remained silent on this subject…

Scheduled for release on all media on October 22, 2021, Battlefield 2042 may well be the victim of a last-minute delay. While players await the dates of the next open beta, Electronic Arts may well choose to review its plans by pushing its flagship game to the very end of the year.

A matter of a few days or weeks?

We owe this guess to insider Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat. On Twitter, the main interested party explained that another postponement should be confirmed this week after that of Dying Light 2. A little later, on Discord, Grubb clearly mentioned the name of Battlefield 2042. A rumor which joins the words of Tom Henderson, another well-known insider, who points to a postponement “of weeks, not months”. EA would not have decided yet, but the new date could be around the end of November.

For now, these assumptions cannot be verified, but it is important to be prepared for anything. Will Call of Duty Vanguard be the only big war FPS to be released at the end of the year? Case to follow!
