Launched in February 2019 on consoles and PC, Apex Legends has yet to be optimized for next-gen consoles. However, there should be some change on this soon.

As of this writing, Apex Legends is only playable through the backwards compatibility program on new consoles from Sony and Microsoft. And if the Respawn Entertainment game benefits from a slight performance boost (with a resolution of 1p), it has not yet been properly improved for the PS440 and the Xbox Series X|S.

Soon smoother and more beautiful than ever?

This weekend, the PlayStation Game Size Twitter account, which tracks all patches before they roll out, discovered an 80GB update for Apex Legends. According to the first feedback, it would be the long-awaited upgrade. Electronic Arts hasn't officially announced anything yet.

Last August, the communication boss at Respawn already confirmed that such an upgrade was in development for Apex Legends. The game could even reach 120 FPS on these machines. See you in a few days...
