Apex Legends, FPS Battle Royale flagship of Electronic Arts, today says goodbye to its game director and design director.

Chad Grenier and Jason McCord have indeed announced, one via a blog post and the other via Twitter, their departure from the talented Respawn Entertainment studio.

Two Legends leave the point of Respawn

Things are scrambling within Respawn Entertainment. We learned recently that the boss of the studio was going to take the head of the Battlefield franchise to participate in the creation of a shared universe on Battlefield 2042. Similarly, Titanfall first of the name was recently withdrawn from sale due in particular security issues.

Today, it is the turn of Chad Grenier and Jason McCord, respectively director of Apex Legends and design director on this same game, to announce their departure from the studio after eleven years of good and loyal service.

The former did so via a blog post, adding that his adventure within the studio has been an “unforgettable journey”. He will be replaced in his post by Steven Ferreira, who joined the ranks of Respawn in 2019 and already managed half of the team in charge of the Battle Royale, according to Chad Grenier.

The second announced it in a more discreet way, via his personal Twitter account. The reason behind his departure would be linked to a need to see new horizons.

Neither has yet specified their plans for the rest of their respective careers.
