AMD Radeon: new drivers for The Medium... but not only!

AMD brings a performance improvement on the latest Bloober Team, The Medium, and various bug fixes… classic in short.

As usual and as its competitor NVIDIA can also do, AMD regularly deploys new drivers to keep up with the most recent video game releases. Thus, the Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition in version 21.2.1 have just been put online.

Up to 9% more performance on The Medium

Logically, it is the last big PC title to be released which is at the heart of the contributions of this pilot. Thus, The Medium benefits from a nice optimization on the part of AMD engineers: if we are to believe the official information, it is a question of performance improving by 9% on a machine based on Radeon RX 6800XT running in 4K and “high” details.

Other changes brought by this new version of AMD drivers include the fixing of potential crashes on Metro Exodus with DirectX ray tracing enabled, issues with Samsung CRG9 monitors, image flickering when using MSI Afterburner and Fixed video playback issues on a second monitor when DOOM Eternal is running on the primary monitor.

AMD also specifies that some problems remain with these drivers which, for example, can cause Hitman 3 to crash on the Apex Predator mission. There is also a problem with activating FreeSync on Forza Horizon 4 and, sometimes, abnormally high CPU occupation when the system is idle.
