As for Middle-Earth Enterprises, it is the company granting the licensing rights for adaptations touching on the monumental universe of JRR Tolkien. It was therefore she who gave the green light to the publisher to develop a mobile game in the latter.
According to Fredrica Drotos, Director of Marketing and Licensing at Middle-Earth Enterprises, The Lord of the Rings: The Heroes of Middle-earth should "respect Tolkien's literary works to the letter".
The gameplay of this mobile game will involve turn-based battles across Middle-earth, from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit books and movies, alongside and against iconic collectible characters. In addition to a single-player campaign, the game will feature cooperative and competitive multiplayer.
