Worlds 2021 League of Legends : LNG et Cloud9 au top du Play-In

The second day of the Worlds 2021 of League of Legends has just ended, and the identities of the two teams that will automatically join the Main Event are starting to be clear, as is that of the two teams who are going to leave Iceland, earlier than expected. Let's see together the updated ranking of groups A and B of the Play-In at the end of this day 2.

The first day of Play-In of Worlds 2021 was full of surprises, especially from the teams RED Canids Kalunga (Brazilian League) and Galatasaray Esports (Turkish League). This second day will also have been very surprising…

Worlds 2021 Play-In: South Korea catch up with China

At the end of this second day, the first place of group A is held by two teams. Unsurprisingly, these are the two favourites: LNG Esports (Chinese League) and Hanwha Life Esports (South Korean League). The 4 seed from China had only one match to play today and easily beat RED Canids Kalunga, despite a convincing start from the Brazilian side.

As for the Korean team, it won its two matches of the day, despite some fears. First of all in a clear and flawless way against the PEACE (Oceania League), then against the RED Canids Kalunga, in spite of big errors, in particular on the part of the bot-laner "Deft".

The least interesting to watch, but most rhythmic game, was the clash between PEACE and Infinity (Latin American League) which put the latter on the ejection seat of the group. Everything will therefore be decided tomorrow to determine the best team in group A, the one that will automatically qualify for the Main Event of the Worlds 2021.

And conversely, to designate the worst team, the one that will not go further in these worlds. Note that, to hope to remain in the competition, Infinity must beat LNG Esports tomorrow… And unfortunately, the Latin American team no longer believes in it. They thus tweeted “F”, in reference to “Press F to pay respects” (that is to say “press F to pay tribute”), to call for benevolence towards the players of the team, who obviously must suffer from the situation.

Ranking of Group A at the end of the second day of the Play-In of the Worlds 2021:

  1. LNG Sports : 3 wins, 0 losses
  2. Hanwha Life Sports : 3 wins, 1 losses
  3. RED Canids Kalunga : 1 win, 2 losses
  4. PEACE : 1 win, 2 losses
  5. Infinity : 0 win, 3 losses

Galatasaray Esports stumble in Group B

The first game of Group B was between their two favorites, namely Beyond Gaming (Taiwanese League) and Cloud9 (North American League). Like the day before, the Taiwanese team failed to win against the teammates of our European expatriates “Perkz” and “Zven”. While they were to lose the early game, the North Americans had no trouble imposing their rhythm until the end.

Fortunately for Beyond Gaming, who were therefore at 0 wins and 2 losses, their last match of the day was against the Unicorns of Love (Russian League) whom they beat without difficulty, with in particular a very nice Ace at 17 minutes of play. , before closing the game in 25 minutes. Conversely, it was the third defeat for the UOL, which is therefore dangerously close to the exit.

The very big surprise of the day was the overall performance of the Galatasaray Esports team (Turkish League). They first suffered a very heavy defeat against DetonatioN FocusMe (Japanese League). A very difficult game for the Turkish team, with a mid-jungle duo that was far too passive, and only two kills taken from their opponents.

Worse, they were conceded by the Turkish support "Zergsting", who played the champion Nami. Then, they lost the second part of the day, this time against Cloud9, who therefore recovered the first place in group B. A much less surprising defeat, since the North American team showed a very good game from the start of Play-In.

Ranking of Group B at the end of the second day of the Play-In of the Worlds 2021:

  1. Cloud9 : 3 wins, 0 losses
  2. DetonatioN FocusMe : 2 wins, 1 losses
  3. Galatasaray Esports : 2 wins, 2 losses
  4. Beyond Gaming : 1 win, 2 losses
  5. unicorns of love : 0 win, 3 losses

Tomorrow will therefore be played the last four scheduled matches of this Play-In of the Worlds 2021. At the end of this third day, we will know the two teams qualified for the Main Event of the Worlds, but also those for whom the competition will be over.
