While Blizzard must soon present its plans for the future of its MMO mastodon, the site of the American giant would have already sold the wick earlier than expected.

A small blunder spotted by Wowhead, a site specializing in everything related to World of Warcraft, two weeks before the announcement planned by Blizzard.

A fluttering extension

More precisely, it is the source code of the official site of Blizzard which would be at the origin of the leak. Curious users would have discovered in the product identifiers the mention of the following word: "Dragonflight" (Draconic Flight in the language of Molière).

This word has been spotted in three forms: base, epic, and heroic. Which could correspond to the different builds Blizzard offers for each World of Warcraft expansion. Each one of course including the extension as well as its share of additional goodies for the epic and heroic forms.

While some Wowhead users felt this was an April Fool's joke, others tend to believe the information is genuine. In the World of Warcraft universe, a dragonflight is the family of one of the five dragon Aspects represented by the colors red, gold, green, blue, and black.

The last appearance of dragons in World of Warcraft was in Cataclysm, with the main antagonist being the once Aspect of Earth, Neltharion. Driven mad by the Old Gods, he became Deathwing and ravaged Azeroth, only to be stopped by heroes of the Horde and Alliance, with the help of the other dragonflights.

Blizzard could therefore plan to put the dragons back in the spotlight. See you on April 19 to get to the bottom of it.
