Developed alone with the sweat of the brow of its designer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, Stardew Valley still remains a topical game despite its six years. And according to the new figures revealed by its developer, it is not about to stop.
A very discreet update from the game's official site informs us that Stardew Valley has sold more than 20 million copies of its life simulation between its release and the end of March 2022.
Over 20 million virtual farmers
In the part of his site reserved for the press, Eric Barone details. "As of March 2022, Stardew Valley has sold over 20 million copies across all platforms, including 13 million on PC alone."
Where this figure becomes even more impressive is when you compare it to the latest statement. In September 2021, the developer announced that it had reached 15 million sales. Before that, in January 2020, it was 10 million.
In short: even though ConcernedApe is now at work on a new game, Haunted Chocolatier, its first title continues to sell like hot cakes. A real reference in terms of life simulation, which must pose some concerns for newcomers to make their way into the ranking of best sellers.
