Ubisoft plans to eventually integrate cross-play and cross-generation play into the online mode of Watch Dogs: Legion.

It is through the official Twitter account of the game that the Spanish giant announces the news to us. Postponed due to numerous bugs affecting it, the online mode will arrive on consoles and Google Stadia on March 23, and on a yet undetermined date on PC.

Bridge under construction

While the single-player adventure already features cross-gen, allowing owners on Xbox One and PS4 to transition to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions at no additional cost, cross-gen play will not be available upon release online mode on March 23 on the latter.

Likewise, it will not be possible to play online with players from other platforms. The game developers are currently working on integrating these two features into the online mode in a future update. In the meantime, they are busy fixing the bugs that led to it being pushed back again.

The PC version of the online mode, affected by the same problems, but on multiple very different hardwares, does not yet have a set release date. This should also receive the integration of the cross-play functionality, when it is deployed.
