Launched in 2015 on PS4, the slasher Until Dawn could be about to return through a “new” game. Indeed, rumors evoking the possible announcement of a remake are beginning to be heard.

Originally presented on PS3 in August 2012 as a title using the capabilities of PlayStation Move controllers, Until Dawn finally arrived three years later on PlayStation 4 with more classic controls. Developed by Supermassive Games, the game features teenagers who go to a chalet lost in the mountains. But a killer tries to massacre them and it's up to the player to save all these beautiful people by controlling each character in turn.

A quick passage through the remake box

Thanks to its many different choices and alternate endings, Until Dawn has quickly earned an excellent reputation. A PlayStation VR spin-off, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, even came out in 2016. But if we're to believe generally knowledgeable insider AccountNGT, it's the first installment that's set to return via a remake.

The game is reportedly being developed by Supermassive Games and is expected to be released on current-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S). However, it is Sony who is the current owner of the rights… It would therefore be surprising (but not totally inconceivable) to see this remake of Until Dawn released on Xbox.
