Restructuring continues at Activision Blizzard. Today, the Toys for Bob studio pays the price. From now on, teams will only have to work on the publisher's favorite license: Call of Duty.

Last January, Vicarious Visions was officially absorbed by Blizzard Entertainment in order to support the development of future Diablos, but also Overwatch 2. A strongly criticized decision which will also be applied to Toys for Bob... The Californian studio has recently illustrated on titles like Spyro Reignited Trilogy or Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.

Everyone on Call of!

In a tweet, Toys for Bob announced its involvement in the development of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3. And despite the “pride” of working on this planetary hit, the reality seems much less joyful for the studio. According to several reports, many layoffs have been made within the teams in recent weeks. The remaining employees have all been switched to Activision's battle royale.

Also, the Video Games Chronicle site specifies that all the studios under the leadership of Activision now take care of Call of Duty. Thus, the future of other licenses like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro or even Tony Hawk's Pro Skater seems more threatened than ever. For the moment, the publisher has not publicly commented on these new layoffs.
