Tired of Battlefield 2042 and NFTs? The Clownfield 2042 parody game is for you

To poke fun at the highly controversial launch of Battlefield 2042 and the rise of NFT in the video game sector, Riverside Sports has split a parody called Clownfield 2042.

A resolutely ugly and buggy parody FPS that has already garnered many very positive reviews since its fresh release on Steam, sold for less than one euro.

Live ammunition satire

While waiting for DICE to provide the patches and additional content that Battlefield 2042 sorely needs, Riverside Sports has split a parody blithely mocking the exclusively multiplayer title which has disappointed in many respects. Clownfield 2042 therefore invites us to embody a "No-Clown" in a world that has been plagued by a stock market crash caused by NFTs.

In addition to poking fun at the bugs and improbable physics that caused a wave of review-bombing at the launch of Battlefield 2042, Clownfield 2042 even allows itself to poke fun at its story, which Electronic Arts intends to make a shared universe.

The game's Steam page tells us that this parody includes three maps, six playable weapons
"and bugs, lots of bugs". She even allows herself to add a small well-felt pike in conclusion: “We will let you enjoy the bugs as they are. And instead of correcting them, we will just release skins”.

Despite a resentment clearly displayed by Riverside Sports, which obviously finds a very favorable echo with the players, Battlefield 2042 came out of it much better than one might think. It is even among the top 5 best-selling games in 2021 on Steam. Hoping that DICE will be able to turn the corner in 2022 and restore the Battlefield franchise to its former glory.
