Waiting Starfield and more The Elder Scrolls VI, Hall 00117 returns to flatter our retinas and our nostalgia with a superb recreation of Skyrim under Unreal Engine 5 in 4K.

After spoiling us with a recreation of Kvatch's Gate in Oblivion under the same engine, it's the turn of Riverwood, Skyrim's first iconic village, to be recreated with the latest iteration of Epic Games' engine.

Rivebois has changed a lot in 11 years

From its original version to the Anniversary Edition, Rivebois has welcomed many adventurers into one of the greatest action-RPGs of all time. But we may know it down to the smallest of its tree trunks, seeing it reproduced under Unreal Engine 5 makes us rediscover it in another light.

The iconic village appears even more shimmering thanks to the Nanite and Lumen technologies of Epic Games' state-of-the-art engine. Note that while Hall 00117 has upscaled the video to display in 4K, he admits that this is not real-time rendering. This recreation is so rich that his computer is only able to display it properly in this form at 1080p.

In any case, this leaves us wondering about what could await us on The Elder Scrolls VI… in about ten years? The next game in the running at Bethesda is in any case Starfield, whose release date has been unsurprisingly postponed to 2023.

Also remember that, unlike CD Projekt RED with The Witcher 4, Todd Howard and his teams should continue to develop their next games on an engine of their own.
