Battlefield 2042 experienced major difficulties during its development and it shows. Between content removed at the last moment, delayed post-launch schedule the new FPS of DICE disappointed the community.
So much so that PC players currently prefer to turn to one of the previous games.
More players on Battlefield V than on 2042
Battlefield 2042 has just passed a symbolic milestone, but not the one expected. The last FPS of the famous franchise did not live up to the expectations of some of its fans. As a result, PC players are increasingly deserting the brand new game to turn to its predecessor: Battlefield V. The previous opus, released in 2018, has indeed welcomed more players in the last 48 hours than Battlefield 2042.
The Steamcharts site, which lists a lot of data from the platform, recorded a peak of 25 players for Battlefield V in the last two days against barely 000 for its successor. If the difference between the two figures is not huge, it is the consequent drop in attendance on Battlefield 19 that is striking. Some time ago, the title gathered more than 000 soldiers before experiencing a gradual decline. It would be premature to speak of disaster, especially since the holiday season must enter into the equation. It remains to be seen if the trend is confirmed over the next few days.
