Revealed over the past month, the next horror title developed by the teams at Supermassive Games, The Quarry, has caught the public's attention for the similarities it shares with the much-loved Until Dawn. And while its release is already fast approaching, the studio has just revealed a first and long gameplay sequence.
While The Quarry is expected on June 10, 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, the title has just unveiled its very first minutes of immersive gameplay.
In the footsteps of Until Dawn
As a world exclusive, the IGN site had the chance to broadcast the first 30 minutes of gameplay that will accompany The Quarry. As this sumptuous sequence shows us, the new title from Supermassive Games seems to be following in the footsteps left by Until Dawn in 2015. This horrific, very cinematic adventure which takes place at night, sees cinematics and game sequences intertwine to thus leave to the players the possibility of deciding the choices (and inevitably the fate) of their characters.
From the start of this game sequence, we can see that there has been, as Supermassive is used to, a real work on the atmosphere and the facial expressions of the different protagonists. As a reminder, The Quarry will put us in the shoes of nine characters embodied by relatively well-known actors, including David Arquette and Grace Zabriskie. The latter will have to try to survive, throughout the night, strange events...
