Expected at the end of January, the horrifying Microsoft exclusive of Bloober Team is illustrated in a new 14-minute gameplay video.
Initially planned for the release of the Xbox Series X | S and finally postponed at the end of January, The Medium had so far been quite stingy regarding its gameplay and its construction. A pitfall that Bloober Team intends to correct with a long game sequence.

Spirit of Silent Hill, are you there?
From the first moments of this gameplay sequence, it's hard not to see a resemblance between The Medium and Silent Hill. Whether it's the camera angles, the creepy and oppressive staging, and even the interface or the location map, the game exudes homage to a monument to horrific gaming, which should satisfy many missing Silent Hill fans in recent years.
Where The Medium has its own spiritual twist is that Marianne, the protagonist, is able, thanks to her gifts as a medium, to cross the veil between the real world and the spirit world. Initially limited in her movements by basely material considerations, she will then be able to leave her carnal envelope to fully interact with the world of spirits.
This duality of plans will allow him to help him progress in the real world, and vice versa. The opportunity through the spirit world to fully surrender to the deliciously horrifying atmosphere of the title. But is the real world really safe from spirit intrusion?

A veteran horror game studio
The Polish studio Bloober Team is not at its first attempt in horror games. He first became known through the Layers of Fear license, mixing exploration and horror in the first person, which had left no one indifferent.
He then set about developing Observer, another first-person game set in an oppressive cyberpunk world. It is to this studio that we also owe the recent game in the Blair Witch franchise.
So we can rest easy (or not) about their ability to make The Medium a successful horror game, despite it being their first third-person game.
