Last February, the American publisher announced the disappearance of its launcher Bethesda.net. This announcement has several consequences including the arrival of games now available for free on Steam.

PC players can now initiate the transfer of their Bethesda.net games to their Steam profile. This migration also applies to backups, although manual copies may be required in this specific case. In any case, the manipulation must be carried out as soon as possible since the launcher will be definitively buried on May 11, 2022. The publisher has detailed the procedure to follow in the tweet below.

Episodes (almost) forgotten

Via Bethesda.net, users could obtain several "old" games from the publisher without paying a penny. The titles in question will also remain free on Steam. This is the case of the first two episodes of The Elder Scrolls saga named Arena and Daggerfall. Launched in 1994 and 1996 respectively, these opuses quite logically show the weight of the years and we should therefore not expect a Skyrim-like experience. Still in the free games department on the Valve store, there is also Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

Finally, two spin-offs from the RPG saga are also making their debut on Steam at €5,99 each. The first is An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire (1997) and the second The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard (1998). As its name suggests, the latter is more like an adventure game than a traditional RPG. In short, you can now (re)discover the whole saga on Steam before the release (in about 30 years) of The Elder Scrolls VI.
