The beta of N, the MMO from Amazon Games, does not just burn some RTX 3090s: the list of victims is much longer! On Twitter, the American YouTuber JayzTwoCents shared the different models impacted. In parallel and in video, he pushed his EVGA RTX 3090 graphics card to its limits, without managing to brick it.

If the American company EVGA has decided to replace the graphics cards that were bricked on the New World beta for free, Amazon Games has for its part deployed a patch to reduce the number of frames per second in the menu, in order to reduce the effort to be provided by the GPUs.

The “exceptional” phenomenon affects several models of graphics cards

According to Igor Wallossek of the German site Igor's Lab, the RTX 3090 graphics cards from the EVGA brand suffer from a design flaw. Thus, for some users, opening the New World beta menu generates significant overheating, and the GPUs burn out. However, the American YouTubeur JayzTwoCents shared on Twitter a list of different models of graphics cards with which users have encountered the same problem.

He therefore concludes his tweet by specifying that the problem would come from the way the New World video game is rendered and that the failure is not exclusive to the RTX 3090.

And it is worth remembering that this malfunction is quite exceptional. Moreover, the YouTuber has published his own test of the MMO from Amazon Games with an RTX 3090 from EVGA and… nothing. He did not reproduce the fault, even though the power used was well above normal. JayzTwoCents thus indicates that it has pushed its graphics card to more than 500 watts, while normal levels are rather around 360 watts.
