A few lucky men and women from the Seattle agglomeration had the excellent surprise this weekend of seeing their long-awaited Steam deck home by none other than Gabe Newell, the founder of Valve.

A very unusual news that will have caused a stir with the community, rather animated by jealousy. Besides, no one here is jealous of course.

Christmas (well) before time

Valve's portable console, the Steam Deck, has finally been available for purchase since January 25 and press feedback is responding positively to the ambient hype. A portable console that embeds almost all of the games in your Steam library to run them very correctly, and this for a price a little higher than that of the Switch?? It was enough for hordes of fans and curious people to jump on this new object.

While many are still waiting for their delivery, some Seattle residents have been given the precious sesame by Gabe Newell in the flesh, with a cover signed by his hand. Two Reddit users who live in the same area have each reported being delivered by the Valve boss. The first, SeattleRainPidgeons, was very lucky since he was present when his neighbor got delivered and was offered a Steam Deck after greeting the company boss.

Less luck for the second, bitfiddler0, who had unfortunately gone skiing at the time of delivery. It was his companion, surprised by this delivery man accompanied by a film crew, who was able to recover the package. The main interested party still wanted to verify that his wife had indeed been in front of GabeN by looking at the images from his security camera, of which he shared captures.
