State of Play: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Deathloop and all the info to remember

It is therefore at the end of February that Sony has chosen to speak with a new episode of the State of Play. The program was loaded and we will without delay recap the announcements of the evening.

The event was focused on a dozen games that will soon be released on PS4 and PS5. Thus, for about 30 minutes, we were able to admire new trailers and gameplay extracts. And that's about it…

Exclusives not really in the spotlight

Admittedly, there were few surprises during this State of Play. We have reviewed many already known games like Returnal, an action-oriented title from Housemarque that will force the player to die frequently. The map will change with each new game. See you on April 30, 2021. Deathloop also had the right to a new trailer. It will land on PS5 on May 21.

Then, this State of Play was chained with softwares a little less in sight like Knockout City whose beta is launched immediately on PS4. Five Nights at Freedy's: Security Breach is coming next year as is Solar Ash, a 3D platformer from the makers of the lovable Hyper Light Drifter.

Preview in June 2020, Kena Bridge of Spirits showed gameplay as well as a release date set for August 24, 2021. This is also the case for Oddworld Soulstorm which will land on PS4 and PS5 on April 6. The PlayStation 5 version will be offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers. The only new software of the evening will have been Sifu, the new production from the Spanish studio Slocap (Absolver) which is expected this year.

And updates

Finally, this State of Play will have detailed two “next-gen” updates for games already available. First there is Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. We already knew this, but the PS5 upgrade will allow 4K gaming at 60 fps with faster loading, 3D audio and support for DualSense adaptive triggers. PS4 saves will be transferable. The upgrade will be available on March 12, 2021.

The big chunk of State of Play was quite logically Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. This more complete version will contain improvements for the PS5. An “enhanced graphics” mode (4K/30 fps) and an “enhanced performance” mode (60 fps) will be added. New difficulties, fog effects, reduced loading times, a photo mode or even a new episode featuring Yuffie are on the program.

This complete edition will be released on June 10, 2021. Owners of the PS4 version will be able to upgrade to PS5 for free (the chapter with Yuffie will need to be purchased separately).
