After a year placed under the flag of Pirates of the Caribbean (and not only), Sea of Thieves embark on the boarding of 2022 with good resolutions. Rare gave us a glimpse of it this week.
It was during a preview event that the British studio returned to its ambitions for this new year. Sea of Thieves will receive new content but will also see features removed from it. This will be the case, for example, with Arena mode, which will soon bow out. The developers have indeed chosen to concentrate their efforts in other areas.
Adventures galore
Let's start with the arrival of Adventures, that is to say temporary events deployed every month and which will not last more than three weeks. Each adventure will tell a chapter of a story that will end with a grand conclusion. It will start from February 17 with Shrouded Islands. For their part, the Mysteries will materialize in the form of enigmas that will have to be elucidated in order to progress. This event will also last longer than the Adventures.
Finally, season 6 will be launched in March with a new experience called the Maritime Forts. Players will be tasked with exploring these forts while facing patrols of soldiers. All this in order to unearth precious treasures. Then, the Legends will in turn receive additional content including a new Journey. Of course, other surprises will mark this year in the company of Sea of Thieves.
