Roller Champions: Ubisoft's free-to-play is still alive

Announced in 2019, Roller Champions has completely disappeared from radar screens for nearly a full year. And if Ubisoft still does not speak about it, the development of the game seems to be progressing.

You have to go back to last February with the launch of its closed beta to find the trace of Roller Champions. Developed by Ubisoft, this free-to-play game sees two teams compete in an arena. To win, you have to grab the ball, go around the track and then score a goal. Of course, opponents can make tackles to recover the ball and in turn try to score. The concept and aesthetics of this new license are reminiscent of a certain Rocket League.

Coming soon ?

If the Roller Champions website hasn't been updated since February 17, 2021, things could pick up speed very soon. Indeed, according to insider Tom Henderson, many test phases will take place on the game between March and April 2022. These internal tests could even indicate a release of the title in the middle of the year.

Of course, we will have to wait for a formal announcement from Ubisoft to know for sure. Currently, Roller Champions is only planned for PC.
