Rocket League: a mobile episode officially announced

As it celebrates its sixth anniversary this year, Rocket League will soon receive a mobile version. The developers at Psyonix have just unveiled the project.

Later this year, Rocket League Sideswipe will land on iOS and Android devices. This opus will take up the concept of the game available on consoles and PC. Of course, the formula has been adapted for smartphones and tablets with gameplay necessarily optimized for touch screens.

More nervous matches

In Rocket League Sideswipe, the games will only be 1v1 or 2v2 over a period of only two minutes. It will be possible to play it with close friends or with strangers online. Players will be able to customize their vehicle and participate in ranked or unranked matches according to their preference. The point of view has also been altered as shown in the visual below.

In short, the Rocket League recipe has been slightly modified with the aim of enhancing the short game sessions. At the moment, we just know that this Rocket League Sideswipe will be released in 2021 on iOS and Android. An alpha test begins today on Google Play, but only in Australia and New Zealand.
