While some big players in the video game industry fall in love with crypto-monnaiesas an Ubisoft et GSC Game World (STALKER 2), a majority of players fight against their integration into the medium.

One of them even created a mod to fight NFTs in Doom.

Fight against NFTs in Doom

You have already seen them. On social networks, in the news, they are everywhere. These hideous monkeys from Bored Ape Yacht Club have become the visual symbols of NFTs. Now you can fight them thanks to a new Doom mod created by Ultra Boi. The approach is more pacifist than what Doom Guy has accustomed us to but sticks perfectly to the ecosystem of this new blockchain trend.

No big guns or rocket launchers here, just a camera to snap shots of these bored singles to drive down their value. A nod to the NFT community, which rails against "right-clickers", Internet users who save or take screenshots of their expensive images to demonstrate that anyone can own a jpeg file and ridicule the concept. When one of Bored Ape's primates is beaten, it comically disappears with its inflated price tag reduced in value to nothing. A travesty that seems more accepted by gamers than the clumsy first steps of cryptocurrency in the industry, even if some games that tried it got a second wind thanks to NFTs.
