PS5: Sony plans to market 12 million additional consoles by April 2022

Soon a return to normal?

According to the principal concerned, Sony would have succeeded in securing enough semiconductors to achieve its objectives. Indeed, the firm wants to sell 14,8 million PS5 over the current fiscal year (which will end on March 31, 2022). Since 2,3 million machines were sold during the first quarter (between April and June 2021), the company says it is able to manufacture around 12 million additional units before next April. However, that doesn't mean everyone will be able to find a PS5 right away.

Finally, Sony also clarified that the PS4 has sold 116,5 million units and that the PlayStation Plus has 46,3 million subscribers. That is a decrease of one million users compared to the last two quarters.
