He had been waiting, and he finally showed his bearded face: God of War: Ragnarok showcased gameplay during PlayStation Showcase 2021.
As its name suggests, this sequel will take Kratos and his son to the Scandinavian lands, where they will meet the legendary Nordic gods.

BOY the trip to the North is going to be epic
We find ourselves a few years after the events depicted in God of War. Atreus has grown up, Mimir is still a talking head, and the cold has set in as much in the lands surrounding our heroes as in their relationship.
Kratos continues to want to protect his son as he searches for answers about his origins, so our father-son duo travel to Asgard. The opportunity to meet the mythical Nordic gods, as well as to visit breathtaking landscapes. Whether it's snowy lands or more fertile places, the gigantism specific to the God of War saga seems to be all the more magnified for this second opus.
The fights also promise to be as daunting as in the previous part, and there is no doubt that Kratos will add other weapons to his panoply to face his new opponents. Unfortunately, no release date has been announced, but we'll be sure to learn more next year.
God of War: Ragnarök will be released on PS4, as well as PS5.
