Riley's bad vibes
Adam Hines, co-writer and director of Oxenfree II, took to the PlayStation Blog to tell us a bit more about the story of his game.
Somehow related to Edwards Island, which we traveled through in the first installment, the town of Camena, Oregon, is plagued by strange phenomena. In this case, electromagnetic waves seem to disturb the electrical equipment and, in particular, the radios of the coastal town.
Riley Poverly, who was born and raised in Camena, returns home to help a group of researchers shed light on these events. This protagonist is described as a young adult, and therefore crossed by other doubts than those that hit Alex in Oxenfree, but who will however use the same tools as the latter to accomplish her mission.
Following perhaps, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals indeed takes up the basics of the gameplay of its predecessor. It will always be about advancing the story through dialogue choices and picking up strange messages using a portable radio.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is still slated for 2021.
