For several years now, the rumors around a potential "Nintendo Switch Pro" keep coming back in a loop, before finally running out of steam. But as Nintendo's latest addition prepares to blow out its fifth candle, yet another clue, concerning a revision of the console, has just appeared on the web...

And this time, it is NVIDIA which is at the origin of a leak about a potential technologically boosted Nintendo Switch!

A Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon?

In the midst of this ocean of rumors and statements of all kinds, it is becoming more and more complicated to understand what is really going on around Nintendo's next console. While the Japanese manufacturer launched the Nintendo Switch OLED a few months ago, and it categorically claimed that no new console was in preparation at that time, insiders, generally well informed, paradoxically affirmed that something was brewing behind the scenes.

However, for its part, and shortly after announcing that it had sold more Switches than Wii, Nintendo declared that its console was still only in the middle of its life cycle. Enough to leave players confused about the existence and identity of this famous and mysterious console made in Big N.

DLSS and ray tracing on the program?

Today, a new clue has awakened all the rumours. Indeed, a major leak recently took place at NVIDIA following a cyberattack. And this one dropped some interesting details, leaving very little room for doubt that there is a new iteration of the Nintendo Switch based on an NVIDIA GPU. NWPlayer123 on Twitter broke it all down for us:

As noted by NWPlayer123, the leak of the code allows to see the mention “NVN2”. As a reminder, "NVN" was precisely the name used internally by Nintendo for the graphics API of its hybrid console. This same leak suggests that this potential future console would benefit from DLSS, NVIDIA's oversampling technique. Thus, this joins the statements of the insider Nate The Hate who already affirmed, several months ago, that the console would support 4K and that it would support DLSS (this one also affirmed that it would be new hardware). Add to that that the leak also mentions ray tracing compatibility and if all of that is true, it could result in a much more powerful console than the Nintendo Switch as we know it right now. current.

As you will have understood, it is still impossible for us to say what Nintendo's plans really are for the coming months and years to come. But there is now almost no longer a shadow of a doubt that the Japanese giant has surprises in store for us. Either way, there's a better chance that these leaks, if true, relate to a new iteration of the heavily boosted Nintendo Switch rather than a new console per se. Finally, as a final reminder, Big N had revealed last November already working on its next generation of console, to come at a date still unknown.
