On the occasion of the last E3, THQ Nordiq confirmed that the German studio Piranha Bytes is currently working on a sequel to Elex soberly called Elex II. It will always be an action-RPG in a science fiction universe. We don't have a release date yet, but both partners have confirmed that the game will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Save the world of Magalan…again
Our German PC Gamer colleagues had the first of a preview version and were able to publish a long video (more than nine minutes) to present most of the essential aspects of the game. We thus learn more about the scenario of the game, but also on the system of dialogues / consequences already present in the first opus.
PC Gamer also insists on the introduction of Dark Elex, a substance even more powerful than Elex which is still used as currency and drugs to boost our hero, Jax. A hero who now happens to be the father of a little Dex who seems to have to accompany us at least on part of the adventure.
The scenario of Elex II takes place a few years after the first opus and the world of Magalan has changed considerably: PC Gamer takes the example of the Tavar desert which is now verdant. Our colleagues specify that the playing area is substantially similar to that of the first opus, Piranha Bytes having above all sought to densify its world.
It is thus a question of proposing five factions that the player can join – against three previously – and a sixth that the studio keeps secret. PC Gamer points out that it takes about sixty hours of play to complete Elex II, a little more than on Elex.
