Two games eagerly awaited by Xbox players could soon be talked about. Indeed, new rumors come to inform us aboutavowed et Hellblade II. A further presentation of these titles seems to be approaching…

This week, it is the title of Obsidian which is under the spotlight with details concerning its gameplay and its universe.

Avowed, a new license with multiple inspirations

Announced in July 2020 during an Xbox Games Showcase through a CGI trailer, Avowed has so far remained very vague about its true nature. Fortunately, the Windows Central site got wind of some rather enticing information.

First of all, the software developed by the studio Obsidian Entertainment (The Outer Worlds, Pillars of Eternity, Grounded) would have recently passed to the playable alpha stage after a long period of preproduction. Thus, a first version in working order and including most of the mechanics of gameplay should soon be topical.

Regarding its content, Avowed is an action-RPG taking place in the universe of the Pillars of Eternity license. The gameplay would be extremely close to that of a Skyrim with a first-person point of view and a two-handed combat system. The player can for example place a weapon in each hand, or use magic in addition to a sword or even cast a powerful spell with two hands. Several character classes would be involved and the enchantment of weapons would occupy an important place in the adventure.

From a more technical point of view, Avowed would use an improved version of The Outer Worlds engine. The colors could even be more vivid there while maintaining a dark look for certain environments.

Soon something new for a long-awaited sequel?

But Avowed isn't the only Xbox Games Studio production to feature in Windows Central's report. Thus, a small passage is dedicated to Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. Recall that the Ninja Theory title was unveiled at the Game Awards in 2019, at the same time as the announcement of the Xbox Series X. However, almost two years later, we still haven't seen anything concrete outside of the first trailer.

Good news since according to the latest rumors, Hellblade II should make its return at the end of the year. According to Windows Central, the game will probably be on the program of the Game Awards 2021 (or a hypothetical event organized by Xbox) which will be held on the night of December 9 to 10. The appointment is made!
