Warner Bros. and NetherRealm are proud to announce that Mortal Kombat 11 has just crossed the milestone of 12 million copies sold.

Mortal Kombat: 73 million games sold!
Launched in 2019, Mortal Kombat 11 has just passed the milestone of 12 million units sold, announced Warner Bros. and NetherRealm. An impressive success for this new episode, which once again confirms the popularity of this saga initiated in 1992.
Note that Mortal Kombat 11 will no longer have any DLC, which therefore allows NetherRealm to focus on a new project.
Sales that allow the Mortal Kombat saga to display today a total of 73 million games sold worldwide, with success mainly acquired in the United States. Contrary to what one might think, the franchise is particularly radiant, even more than Street Fighter (46 million games sold) or Tekken (51 million games sold), yet two behemoths of the genre.
Remember that we devoted a full episode of NEO.Classics to the very first Mortal Kombat, which then made the Street Fighter emperor tremble with its unique graphics and exacerbated violence. Did you know that a character in the saga is directly inspired by a certain Jean-Claude Van Damme?
For the record, Warner Bros. also indicates that Mortal Kombat Mobile has been downloaded nearly 140 million times and that the franchise has been declined in films, series, derivative products and other joys of all kinds.
