Expected this summer, the extension sun break de Monster hunter rise was illustrated at length in a dedicated livestream.

New areas, new monsters, new mechanics, event in preparation for the expansion and release date of the latter, here is what to remember from the event.

La Chasse reopens this summer

Capcom previously announced that the expansion would arrive this summer. This livestream was an opportunity to know the detailed release window: June 30, 2022, on Nintendo Switch and PC. The studio anticipates a total weight of 13 GB for this one.

Following the events depicted in Rise, such as the Calamity driving Kamura's monsters mad, peace seemed to return to the world. But Dame Fiorayne, a knight from the distant kingdom of Elgado, needs our help to investigate similar events reported there.

Exit Kamura, hello the Citadel, which will serve as the new hub for Sunbreak. Who says new horizons with new biomes also says new monsters. The livestream revealed a few of them: Garangolm, Lunagaron, Astalos and the Elder Dragon Malzeno, already present in previous games. Variants of already known monsters will also put our Hunter skills to the test.

To combat these fierce new monsters, Sunbreak will introduce new Filoptera-initiated moves for each of the 14 weapons present. Hunters will also take the opportunity to leave Expert Rank and move on to Master Rank missions.

Hunters from all walks of life are invited

While waiting for the expansion, Monster Hunter Rise will host new events to set the stage. Like Monster Hunter World's Iceborne expansion, a Defender set will be offered to newcomers to get to Sunbreak content faster.

Those who have the base game will only have to acquire the expansion as downloadable content. A Deluxe edition will also be offered with its set of cosmetics. For players who have discovered a new passion for hunting, a set including the basic version of Monster Hunter Rise and the Sunbreak extension will also be included.

Pre-ordering the game will come with classic bonuses like skins for its Palicos and Chumskys. The Nintendo Switch version will also welcome new amiibos for collectors.

Until June 30, 2022, Capcom will continue to fill the base game with content and present the exciting new features that await us in Sunbreak.
