Lost Judgment could be the last installment of the saga… because of the agency of its main actor

Second opus of this spin-off of the saga Yakuza, Lost Judgment may well be the last. At least if Sega and the agency of Takuya Kimura, the Japanese actor who lends his features to the hero, cannot find common ground.

A conflict between the two companies, which also explains why Judgment, released in 2018, has still not been ported to PC.

An inflexible agency

The agency Johnny & Associates, which represents the interests of actor Takuya Kimura, categorically refuses to allow the features of its client to be visible on other platforms than those where Judgment (and, by extension Lost Judgment), is already available. In other words: the spin-offs developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku have still not arrived on Steam due to strict control by the gaming star's agency. And according to the specialized site Nikkan Taishu, Johnny & Associates are adamant to say the least.

Firm, the agency is however careful not to explain why their client has the right to be represented in a game on console but not on PC. The fear that mods or possible diversions could harm his reputation perhaps? The reasons are still unclear.

Still, if the two parties can not agree, Lost Judgment will mark the end of this saga. “The developers decided that if they couldn't distribute the game on Steam, it would pose great financial difficulties, and that the series would end with the second game, Lost Judgment,” reports the Japanese newspaper. .

Kimura himself seems to regret the rigidity of his representatives. “He longs to continue the series, but admitted to being disappointed to hear that it might not be possible,” writes the Nikkan Taishu. Lost Judgment will be released on September 24 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
