A month after its release in the West with Amazon Games publishing, Lost Ark is doing better than ever and is establishing itself as one of the MMO most popular at the moment.

The free-to-play title from the Korean studio Smilegate with its punchy hack'n slash gameplay currently has more than 20 million players worldwide.

Gathering of adventurers from the Lost Arks

Despite a launch complicated by server capacity synonymous with very (very) long queues, the arrival of Lost Ark in the West has generated record enthusiasm. In the first three days of launch on our western shores, 4,7 million players joined the search for the Lost Arks.

On the strength of this veritable tidal wave, the free-to-play MMO reached the impressive number of 1,32 million simultaneous users, to rise to second place in the largest peak of players connected at the same time on a Steam game. If the situation has stabilized today, with queues significantly reduced, Lost Ark can boast of having a strong community of more than 20 million players.

However, the adventure is far from over for Smilegate and Amazon. The Western version still has to catch up with its three-year delay compared to the Korean version, with a first consistent patch deployed recently in this direction. Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games, said that the two studios will "commit to supporting the growing community with a solid roadmap of updates for the years to come". The future of Lost Ark therefore seems to be all mapped out and radiant.
