Konami is very proud to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its legendary Castlevania saga.
And that will go through an all-new, much-requested 2D game launching a collection of NFTs.

35 years ago you might have been hunting down the infamous Dracula as the valiant vampire hunter Simon Belmont in the very first Castlevania, which launched in May 1987 on the NES in the US (and actually as early as 1986 in Japan on the Famicom Disk System). In 2022, Konami is therefore celebrating the 35th anniversary of its vampiric franchise, which is still very much appreciated by many fans today. And that won't go through a new compilation, or even a new 2D episode that many fans are eagerly awaiting… but a collection of NFTs.
Indeed, on January 12, Konami will auction a total of 14 original works of art (game scenes, illustrations, etc.) from the Castlevania series. This is the first project in the field of blockchain technology and NFTs for Konami.
Konami Memorial NFT is thus a new initiative to share content loved by players around the world for many years, and could therefore soon integrate content from other emblematic licenses of the group (Contra/Probotector, Silent Hill, Suikoden, Gradius…)
"Following this first project in the field of blockchain technology and NFTs, which are in their infancy, Konami will continue to explore new avenues and listen to player feedback on this initial collection", explains the publisher.
Regarding the video game future of the Castlevania series, Konami indicates its willingness to continue to support currently available titles, "while evaluating new opportunities for titles that will exceed player expectations". Here, here...
