After the critical and commercial success of DOOM Eternal, the developers at id Software are already at work on their next game. And some fairly brief details have just reached us.

Since 2016, id Software has only worked on the DOOM license. Thus, logic would dictate that the American studio is currently dealing with yet another sequel to its FPS saga. And if we do not yet know the name of their next game, a handful of information has been unearthed via job offers.

Action first

On its site, id Software announces that it is looking for several profiles including a technical animator, an artist in charge of the skybox and another for the environments. The description of these positions evokes sets mixing elements of the science fiction and fantasy genres. In addition, the game in question is described as being “an action FPS from an emblematic saga”.

This greatly reduces the possibilities. We can imagine that it is about a new DOOM or at least a new Quake. Either way, since Bethesda Softworks was acquired by Microsoft, this title will no doubt be exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem.
