Before exploding in the eyes of the general public with Genshin impact, the Chinese development studio MiHoYo became known through another universe, that of Honkai. After two episodes, baptized Honkai Academy 2 et Honkai Impact 3rd, MiYoHo continues to extend the license with a new opus which should stand out from its elders.

While it will no doubt be hard to top the phenomenal success of Genshin Impact, which welcomes its 2.2 release this week, Honkai Star Rail might have a strong case for old-school RPG enthusiasts. , i.e. on a turn-by-turn basis.

MiHoYo on the right track

After making a splash in action-RPGs, with Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact, allowing it to record record revenues in 2021, the Chinese development studio has decided to settle down a bit by offering a more tactic that will rely on turn-based combat.

We should still find in this new title the spirit of the productions of MiHoYo, and stay on familiar ground thanks to the aesthetics of the game, its dynamism and the presence of certain familiar faces such as that of the character of Himeko.

The game will follow the adventures of eight characters - at least initially - aboard the Astral Express, a ship that will allow players to cross the entire galaxy to unwind the thread of a plot that is supposed to be rich in action and twists.

For the moment, Honkai Star Rail has only been revealed on the surface, but we already know that the title is planned for PC and mobiles. While waiting for the formalization of a release date, the MiHoYo game is offering itself a closed beta phase, the terms of which can be found on the HoYoLab site (link below).
