With Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy, Warner Bros. Games wants to offer the Harry Potter universe to as many players as possible. This is why the game developed by Avalanche will be released on almost all media.

No matter your console (or PC) of choice, Hogwarts Legacy will be within your reach at the end of the year. Like a significant number of productions in recent months, the action-RPG will straddle two generations. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. could waive the rollout of a free upgrade for owners of the game on PS4 or Xbox One.

A not-so-generous wizard?

The Video Games Chronicle site has spotted a detail that would point to the absence of this free upgrade. Indeed, Hogwarts Legacy will have a version intended for Xbox One and another distinct for Xbox Series. Usually, when a game takes advantage of the Smart Delivery feature (which acts as an upgrade at no additional cost by downloading the best version for the console used), the cover displays the words "Xbox Series X - Xbox One" as for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Finally, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are currently $10 more expensive ($69,99 instead of $59,99) than the others at Best Buy. A price increase that has unfortunately become common on productions intended for new generation consoles. As always, we will have to wait for a speech from Warner Bros. to know the end of the story.
