Real success for IO Interactive, Hitman 3 will be treated to new content in 2022, including new maps and ray tracing on PC.

Released in January 2021, the stealth game has already welcomed several free and paid new features, including DLCs dedicated to the seven deadly sins. For the rest of the program, the developers do not seem to run out of ideas.

A Year 2 full of new features for Hitman 3

IO Interactive has released a video to outline its plans for Year 2 of Hitman 3. It will begin on January 20 for an additional twelve months of new features. New maps, scenarios, modes and other ways to play are on the program, including a “Target Fugitive Arcade” mode which will be presented in detail at the beginning of January. We are also given an appointment in the spring of 2022 for the arrival of a major update which will obviously bring a new map, teased below.

PC players will be delighted to learn that the long-promised ray tracing will be added in 2022. The VR mode, so far only available on PS VR, will land on PC in January. Technical details and compatible VR headsets will be announced in the coming weeks.

IO Interactive took the opportunity to indicate that Hitman 3 is the most successful opus in the history of the franchise. No sales figures revealed, but we are told that the trilogy launched in 2016 saw 50 million players pass. A number undoubtedly inflated by the free versions of the various episodes.

Recall that the Danish studio is also working on the James Bond Project 007 game and, according to rumors, on a certain Project Dragon with Microsoft.
