Halo: Combat Evolved will soon blow out its twenty candles. For the occasion, Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the franchise FPS cult, had fun recreating it on the Unreal Engine 4.

In two images made with 3DS Max and the penultimate version of the Epic Games engine, the man offers us a superb image imbued with nostalgia. As much for him as for the fans of the series, which therefore made its debut in 2001 on Xbox.

So we can see in this image a modernized revisit of the episode that initiated the Grand Voyage for Master Chief and so many other iconic characters, courtesy of Bungie. Everything that characterizes the legendary franchise is captured in a single image: Spartan 117 himself in his Mjölnir Mark V armor, his trusty assault rifle, the iconic Warthog, and of course the Halo towering above the stage.

Marcus Lehto shared another image of John, this time from behind. On its right sole, we can read MRL, the initials of the co-creator of the franchise. An Easter Egg that will certainly not have escaped the most assiduous fans of the franchise.

Since Bungie passed the torch of its iconic series to 343 Industries, Marcus Lehto has come on his own way. He also recently expressed his opinion on Halo Infinite following the first weekend of the second phase of technical testing.

The man therefore seems satisfied with the work done by the successors of Bungie, notably welcoming a fight mixing homage and modernity, as well as the visual aspect of the game. An encouraging approval for the title expected on December 8 on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
