Expected next year on PS4 and PS5, God of War: Ragnarok should allow new customization options.
Eric Williams, in charge of this new opus, has indeed delivered new details, in particular on the shield of Kratos.

God of War: Ragnarok will focus… on the shield
During the recent PlayStation Showcase, Sony finally unveiled the first trailer for the new God of War: Ragnarok, which will be available in 2022 on PS5 and PS4. An episode firmly awaited by many fans, after a daunting God of War in 2018, and a completely revised formula.
Indeed, God of War has literally broken the codes of the series, with brand new gameplay, an ax instead of the Blades of Chaos and a unique father/son relationship, in addition to a sequence shot that is just remarkable. The game also brought new mechanics to weapons and customization, and God of War: Ragnarok should go a step further on this level.
Indeed, according to Eric Williams, God of War: Ragnarok will retain the mechanics already introduced in the previous opus, but it should also highlight a more “defensive” aspect. Indeed, in the 2018 opus, weapons like armor could be personalized, which was not the case with Kratos' precious shield.
The next opus should therefore allow players to get their hands on different types of shields, again with a very extensive customization side aimed at allowing everyone to choose the style of attack and defense that suits them the most.
Obviously, we imagine that the developers still have many surprises in store for this new God of War: Ragnarok, but fans can already expect something even richer than the founding episode. Remember also that this new opus should sign the end of the Nordic epic of Kratos. Can't wait for 2022 then.
