Yesterday, Santa Monica's masterpiece God of War was celebrating its fourth anniversary, and the studio seems determined to release its sequel this year on PS4 et PS5.

Following a message from Cory Balrog (former director of the action-adventure franchise) indicating that the studio was not quite ready to say more about God of War Ragnarök yet, animation director Bruno Velazquez held to reassure the fans.

« Believe it, BOY »

It's been four years since Santa Monica wowed the gaming world with a brilliant reboot of the legendary God of War franchise. Cory Balrog took the opportunity to send a message full of affection to the fans.

If many hoped there for a concrete announcement concerning God of War Ragnarök, the man unfortunately disappointed their hopes. He has indeed indicated that "the studio was not ready to say more yet, but that will change the second the game deserves to be presented in all its glory".

It's hard not to see it as a sign that God of War Ragnarök will not be released this year, despite what Santa Monica had been able to provide in the past. Following this message, Bruno Velazquez, director of animation for the studio, in an unequivocal response to a fan maintained such ambitions concerning the continuation of the adventures of Kratos and Atreus.

While waiting for a more concrete announcement, certainly during an exclusive State of Play, we will unfortunately have to take Santa Monica at its word. We bet, however, that the studio will continue the mark of excellence initiated with the title of 2018, winner of numerous distinguished awards, to make us live a truly divine adventure.
