The annual high mass of video games is approaching. And like an anomaly in the post-COVID era, it will be held face-to-face! The event will also be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch, but will also be invited… on Spotify.
This new edition of the "Video Game Oscars" will be held live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The kick-off will take place on the night of next Thursday 9 to Friday 10 December, from 2 a.m. (Spanish time).
How to follow the Game Awards 2021?
The event will be streamed live on the Game Awards YouTube channel as well as the Twitch channel.
This year, the ceremony headed by Geoff Keighley is also associated with Spotify, which will officiate as exclusive audio partner. Until then, the platform also provides a podcast in four episodes which reveals part of the backstage of the event.
What to expect at The Game Awards?
The list of nominees is already available, and will notably pit Deathloop, Metroid Dread and Psychonauts 2 against each other for the title of Game of the Year 2021.
As usual, the event will be punctuated by various interventions and regularly interrupted for “World Premieres”, exclusive announcements around games already announced or expected for next year.
In this case, several signals suggest that we could see for the first time the Star Wars game on which Quantic Dream would be at work.
