Forza Horizon 5: the developers specify the patches to come

Playground Games has published a message for players of Forza Horizon 5 detailing which multiplayer features are still problematic and are being addressed by the game teams.

It won't fix the whole game, but it's reassuring to see teams communicating transparently about issues big enough to ruin the experience for some.

It's us you can, it's us you can plus

Almost all of us have had these connection problems on Forza Horizon 5, whether it's a complete inability to connect to the online shared open world Horizon Life, or untimely disconnections in Convoy or during Arcade games. Playground Games is working on six important points regarding the multiplayer of their racing game. Nothing has been done yet, but the teams want to be reassuring and tell us that they are actively working on their resolution for a future update.

  • Convoys: Playground Games is working on resolving player disconnection issues in convoys;
  • Horizon Arcade: Unexpected disconnects rarely leave enough players online to complete the mini-games in Horizon Arcade events. This greatly impacts the social experience intended by the development studio. Work is underway to improve this;
  • The Eliminator: Playground Games is working on the problems of invisible players in the Battle Royale as well as the concerns of triggering confrontations by honking;
  • Horizon Open: Teams work through matchmaking issues, causing only the convoy leader to find a match, leaving others on the sidelines.

Cheating issues taken seriously

On the score ranking side, bugs lead to the publication of erroneous race times in the player rankings. The studio also warns us that players do not hesitate to cheat by playing with the game's speed modifier to boost their stunt scores and thus rack up a lot of mastery points easily. Scores so high they are impossible to beat for regular players.

Finally, concerning EventLab, an option for saving and editing personalized layouts will be added for people wishing to modify their creations without the risk of losing everything they have built. Again on the subject of cheating and exploiting weaknesses in the game, Playground says it is thinking about steps to take to decrease the currently too high number of custom XP and money farming events.

There are still a lot of malfunctions on Forza Horizon 5 (several dozen if we are to believe the web page listing all the studio's known problems), but Playground Games asks us to be patient, these problems being dealt with in order of priority, and reminds that each of them is observed with attention. To be forgiven, the studio finally announces to distribute 1 Forzathon points to all players when the next content update is deployed.
