Fortnite keep surprising us with new items! Chapter 3 introduced yesterday via its 19.01 patch the shield barrel, to be used in moderation.
What could be more horrible than being in the middle of a fierce battle without any shield potions or medkits? A solution is brought to you with the brand new shield barrel which will distribute the precious blue liquid to the surrounding players.
Where to find the precious sesame?
The shield barrel is a rare item (blue in color) that lands on the ground and broadcasts its contents to players standing nearby. Particularly useful for games in sections, trios or duos, it will allow a whole team to raise their shield to the maximum after a few seconds of waiting. Be careful though, any player in the field of action of the barrel will be able to benefit from it, even the opponents...
You can find these casks on the ground, in chests or supply drops by relying on luck, or go to one of the two locations marked on the map. If you go to Sanctuary, find the Scientist; if you go to Logjam Lumberyard, look for Lieutenant John Llama. In both cases, you can buy a keg from them for 250 gold bars.
