Taking advantage of the excitement around GDC 2022, Luminous Productions showcased the technologies that will animate forspoken neighborhoods, are the action-RPG intriguing published by Square Enix.

In a short video, the Japanese studio presents its latest title boosted by the latest technologies from AMD and Microsoft, such as the promising FSR 2.0 which will soon be fully supported on consoles and DirectStorage.

A gliding technological showcase

After Deathloop, the next game to fully support version 2.0 of AMD's super-sampling technology will be the much-watched Forspoken. In the video below, Luminous Productions takes us through the use of this promising technology in detail to ensure excellent visual quality without sacrificing performance.

We can thus see the FSR in action, compared to a native rendering in 4K. If the FSR necessarily displays a less clear image, this difference should largely fade with version 2.0. Likewise, Luminous Productions has played with several parameters of the FidelityFX technology such as ambient occlusion, screen space reflections or denoiser, in order to see this technological showcase that is Forspoken in action in the most beautiful way.

Finally, the Japanese studio demonstrated the effectiveness of Microsoft's DirectStorage technology. In particular, we can see practically imperceptible loading times on an M.2 NVMe SSD. On a SATA SSD, the loading speed remains more than respectable, while conventional hard drives still struggle, even if the DirectStorage provides helpful assistance.

Luminous Productions therefore promises us a very beautiful high-flying adventure in complete fluidity thanks to recent technologies from AMD and Microsoft. We can't wait to see it all in action on October 11 on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) and PS5!
