For the 20th anniversary of the Ghost Recon franchise, Ubisoft announces a free-to-play PvP episode titled Frontline

Celebrating 20 years of its tactical shooter franchise Ghost Recon, the Spanish giant presented Frontline, a episode free-to-play massively multiplayer in sight FPS.

A title still in development, but which will soon be the subject of a test phase for those interested, for the time being exclusively on PC. Twentieth anniversary obliges, Ubisoft also took the opportunity to make multiple announcements relating to the other episodes of the license.

Over 100 Ghosts on the frontline

For the first time in Ghost Recon history, Ubisoft is betting on offering a massively multiplayer experience on a vast playing field, all in free-to-play. More than a hundred Ghosts will indeed be deployed on the island of Drakemoor, a huge area plagued by many climate changes on which various objectives will be available to fighters.

Each group can be composed freely thanks to a system of classes and tactical equipment, which can be changed during the game. To emphasize an immersive experience, Ubisoft has chosen here to offer an exclusively first-person view.

Pride of place should be given to tactical freedom. Each objective will require you to gather intel to find it, and then have to be extracted from the area by helicopter. This extraction will however be visible to all other neighboring groups. A frontal or more subtle approach will therefore be possible at any time during the game.

Planned for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, this massively multiplayer free-to-play FPS will soon be able to be tested by European players, exclusively on PC. To participate in this test phase, Ubisoft invites interested parties to register on the official Ghost Recon Frontline website, cited in source below.

Gifts to Goghost for fans of the franchise

To celebrate 20 years of its favorite tactical shooter franchise, Ubisoft has also prepared some gifts for fans. Thus, until October 11, the original game that launched the license can be recovered for free on PC via Ubisoft Connect and on consoles.

Likewise, the DLC Fallen Ghost of Ghost Recon Wildlands as well as the adventure Deep State of Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be offered free of charge, still until October 11 on PC via the Ubisoft platform, but also on consoles.
